Today I chose a cigar and coffee that complement each other, rather than from the same region.
Today's Cigar is the AJ Fernandez Bellas Artes.
This cigar has a unique wrapper referred to as "Rojita", which is a hybrid of 3 strains of tobacco. The binder is from the Quilali region of Nicaragua, which has been producing peppery tobacco since 1800. Filler is a blend of Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Brazilian Viso.
The Bellas Artes has notes of cinnamon, cedar, and a slight sweetness. I would call it a medium plus in strength and body.
Today's Coffee is provided by the folks at Footnote. This medium roast is a nutty and smooth blend from Peru and San Martin. The notes of caramel and toffee are a compliment to today's Cigar, the MBombay Habano Belicoso. With an Equadorian Habano wrapper, Equadorian Criollo binder, and aged long leaf filler from Peru and Nicaragua, the MBombay Habano has notes of caramel, toasted almonds, and white pepper.Read More
